Mr. Peter J. Ali

Master of Business Administration.

Peter Ali is the Chief Executive Officer for the company. He has a Master of Business Administration and over 30 years of Sports Administration experience to his name. Peter was appointed company secretary on 4 August 2003.

Mr. Oliver F. Bott

Manager Finance & Administration.

Oliver Bott has performed the Finance & Administration Manager’s role for both the company and the previous SA Greyhound Racing Authority since 1995, having held previous finance and administrative positions with the South Australian Jockey Club for over 11 years. His experience within the racing industry dates back to the late 1970's, through part-time employment as a bookmakers' clerk at metropolitan thoroughbred and greyhound race meetings. Oliver holds an Associate Diploma in Accounting, and a Master of Business Administration degree.

He is a Fellow of the National Institute of Accountants (FPNA status), an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (AFAIM) and Certified Professional Manager (CPMgr) with the AIM. Oliver was appointed a company secretary of GRSA in April 2003. He is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board for the financial, administrative, statutory, human resource and information systems within GRSA, including like assistance for GRSA Member Clubs.

In addition to this, Oliver is the Honorary Treasurer of both the SA Greyhound Industry Foundation (SAGIF) and Australian Greyhound Racing Association (AGRA).

Mr. Peter Smith

Operations Manager

Mr. Smith has been working in the racing industry for over 30 years. He previously worked in the media as a race caller and was with 5AA when it was purchased by the TAB in 1985. He called all three codes including Adelaide Cups at Angle Park. In 1994, he moved to Bathurst Harness Racing Club as their General Manager, where he was responsible for the running of the rich Gold Crown Carnival. In 1999, he moved back to South Australia to manage the Gawler & Barossa Jockey Club, at a time when their future was uncertain and helped to develop a plan for the future of the club.

Peter joined GRSA in July 2003 as the Operations Manager. His role includes overseeing the racing and grading functions of Greyhound Racing in South Australia and the racing infrastructure of both Angle Park and Gawler. During his tenure, Greyhound Racing in SA has been able to increase it's TAB Sky Channel coverage, an area vital to the industry's market share.

Mr. Paul Marks

Chairman of Stewards

Paul Marks began his career with Greyhound Racing in 1979 as a Starter at Strathalbyn. He also served as President of the Kennel Club. In 1980, Paul was appointed as a part-time Steward at Strathalbyn and progressed to work at Angle Park, Gawler and various coursing meetings.

In 1986, he was appointed as a full-time Steward/Grader for the Greyhound Racing Control Board and then in 1994 he was appointed Chairman of Stewards.

Mr. Leigh Rogers

Food and Beverage Manager

Mr. Leigh Rogers has been in the position of Food and Beverage Manager for 8 years with GRSA. Having spent over 20 years in hospitality with prominent organisations like the Park Royal and Accor Hotel Chains, Leigh has vast exposure to all aspects of this industry.

Qualified with an advanced diploma in business, hospitality management, Leigh has used this experience to develop GRSA’s two main venues; McQueens and Chasers to their potential. Leigh is looking forward to further growth, in particularly upgrading Chasers Restaurant in the next financial year.

Mrs. Natalie Bailey

Marketing Manager, Bachelor of Business, major in marketing.

With over 20 years experience in Advertising and Marketing in both Australia and overseas, she is keen to put her vast skills to use in lifting the awareness of Greyhound Racing in SA.

Having been actively involved in the marketing for companies like Toyota Australia, Lexus, Stratco, Sola Optical, VIP Home Services and ANZ to mention a few, Natalie’s fresh approach will greatly benefit the GRSA team.
