Greyhound Racing SA Grading Guidelines

Updated – 6th December 2011

1. Last start winner at the track and distance at the previous corresponding meeting.
2. Last start placegetter at the track and distance at the previous corresponding meeting.
3. Qualifying heat winner at the track and distance, relevant to the meeting being graded.
4. Last start winner.
5. Last start placegetter.
6. Two wins from last three starts.
7. Downgrade: This applies to greyhounds nominated in all grades.
8. Reserve greyhounds that did not obtain a start at the previous corresponding meeting (same distance). Excludes Feature Events or races listed as best greyhounds nominated.
9. The Grader may include here any greyhound that in his opinion is entitled to be graded into the field based on its overall record and/or recent performance/or performances in feature events/or greyhounds with equal qualifications.
10. Placed two out of last three starts (city).
11. One win from last three starts (city).
12. Placed one out of last three starts (city).
13. One win from last three starts (provincial).
14. Placed two out of last three starts (provincial).
15. Placed one out of last three starts (provincial).
16. Maiden having first start.

Graders' discretion.

(The Order of Preference does not apply when grading for the Best Greyhounds Nominated in the opinion of the Grader).
