GREYHOUND
OF
THE
MONTH
-
JUNE
June
proved
to
be
pretty
strong
month
with
regard
to
performances
considered
for
the
monthly
title.
The
result
was
that
a
couple
of
greyhounds
could
be
considered
unlucky
not
to
win
and
might
have
at
another
time.
The
likes
of
Fire
And
Passion,
which
won
5
races;
Puzzle
Corner,
4
wins
including
the
Port
Pirie
Sapling
Stakes;
Bothing
the
winner
of
the
Stayers
Cup
Heat
and
Final;
and
there
were
a
couple
of
3
race
winners.
However
in
the
end
the
judges
were
unanimous
in
voting
Jumbo
Forrest
as
June’s
greyhound
of
the
Month.
In
a
remarkable
performance,
he
had
7
starts
for
June,
winning
the
first
6
of
them.
This
was
the
second
half
of
his
12
wins
in
a
row
at
headquarters.
Not
only
did
he
win
6
races,
but
4
were
in
sub
30
seconds,
the
fastest
a
7
length
29.73
victory.
Jumbo
Forrest
has
been
the
lynchpin
of
a
very
successful
return
to
Jumbo
Forrest
is
by
Awesome
Assasin
out
of
Rerun
and
is
no
newcomer
to
racing
as
he
will
be
4
years
old
next
month.
His
career
in
Jumbo
Forrest
will
no
doubt
head
towards
the
Nationals
Series
next
month,
hoping
to
win
the
local
spot.
It
won’t
be
easy,
especially
if
Miss
Spicy
makes
it
back
after
the
setback
of
last
week.
There
are
also
a
number
of
other
greyhounds
bolstering
the
“Open
Grade”
ranks.
Nevertheless
Jumbo
Forrest
one
expects,
will
figure
highly
in
calculations.
He
