GREYHOUND OF THE MONTH - JULY  

The Greyhound of the Month title for July came down to the last vote, with Ten Tornados finally gaining the majority over Rockin’ Reltub. It is Ten Tornados second monthly Award, as he was also the winner in May, when he won the Gawler Produce Stake.  

Ten Tornados had 4 starts during July for 4 wins, all at Angle Park . His best winning time for the month was a slick 29.76. The Troy Murray trained dog’s record at the end of July was 18 starts for 13 wins and 4 seconds, with his SA prize money up to $17,655. Of course since then we know that he has earned the Sprint spot for SA in the Nationals.  

For trainer Troy Murray and owner Sarah Pringle, the great journey continues. Certainly their partnership must be, on a strike rate basis, the most successful in the country over the last 12 months. They have now won 5 of the monthly awards in South Australia this year.

Perhaps a win by Ten Tornados in the National Final could see the kennel with two finalists for the Australian Greyhound of the Year!
