GREYHOUND
OF
THE
MONTH
–
AUGUST
It
looked
like
it
might
be
a
tight
race
on
paper
for
the
August
Greyhound
of
the
Month.
However
the
judges
were
quite
firm
in
their
voting
and
the
result
was
Bothing
was
a
strong
winner
for
August.
She
received
most
of
the
first
preferences
from
the
judges,
with
her
main
rival,
Ten
Tornados
receiving
the
majority
of
the
second
selections.
The
pair
dominated
their
respective
divisions
of
the
state
national’s
series,
but
it
was
probably
Bothing’s
36.81
second
643m
track
record
at
Gawler
that
tipped
the
judges
her
way.
The
August
performances
do
not
include
the
National
Finals
in
Launceston,
which
were
run
in
September
and
where
Bothing
won
the
National
Distance
title.
It
is
Bothing’s
second
monthly
award;
she
has
previously
received
a
GOTM
back
in
July
2005,
the
month
that
she
won
the
Champion
Puppy
at
Bothing
is
trained
by
Bosco
Stamenkovic
and
was
whelped
in
September
2003,
being
by
Carlisle
Jack
out
of
Which
Wire.
Injury
has
restricted
her
racing
career
to
just
18
race
starts
to
the
end
of
August,
with
13
wins,
and
3
placing’s
and
earnings
of
$22,865.
Of
course
she
has
added
a
further
$50,000
in
September.
Her
recent
great
record
has
been
over
the
longer
distances,
but
she
also
has
a
personal
best
over
515m
at
Unfortunately
injury
has
again
interrupted
her
racing
career
and
it
is
uncertain
at
this
stage
whether
she
will
race
again.
