2008 SKY CHANNEL ADELAIDE CUP CONDITIONS

Sky Channel Adelaide Cup Race Dates:  

Thursday 10^th Jan: 
Sky Channel Adelaide Cup Heats (up to 10) @ $3,000 each
The Advertiser Interstate Challenge (8 Invited) @ $10,000  

Thursday 17^th Jan: 
Sky Channel Adelaide Cup Semi-Finals x 4 @ $6,000 each  

Thursday 24^th Jan: 
Sky Channel Adelaide Cup Final @ $75,000  

Total Prize money & Trophies of $139,000  

Interstate Challenge:

The Adelaide Cup Selection Panel will select the 8 greyhounds to compete in the Interstate Challenge on Thursday 10^th January from the Adelaide Cup nominations.  

Four greyhounds from interstate and four greyhounds from South Australia will be selected to run in the Challenge. They will be seeded through to the Adelaide Cup Semi-Finals on January 17^th, providing they start in the Challenge.

 * The winner of the New Year Sprint, run on Thursday 4^th January gains automatic selection to the Interstate Challenge.  

Adelaide Cup Heats:

All greyhounds remaining are required to start in the Adelaide Cup Heats on Thursday 10^th January. The Interstate Challenge and Heat fields will be drawn on Monday 7^th January at approximately 1.30pm . Heats are graded as “Best Greyhounds Nominated”.  

The greyhounds that compete in the Interstate Challenge gain automatic entry to the Adelaide Cup Semi-Finals, while the remaining places will be determined by finishing positions in the Heats. Normal Heat & Finals conditions will be applied.  

Nominations:

Close on Friday 4^th January with GRSA at 9.00am . A special nomination form is available from GRSA.

Adelaide Cup Selection Panel:

The Adelaide Cup Selection Panel will choose the greyhounds to be invited to the Interstate Challenge. This panel will consist of the GRSA Grader (Chairman), Operations Manager, Racing Officer and Industry Representative along with 2 members of the SA greyhound media.

West End Distance Championship Heats – 731m  

Thursday 3^rd January 2008 :
West End Distance Championship Final (Group 3)
New Year Sprint – 515m

Thursday 10^th January:
Sky Channel Adelaide Cup Heats (up to 10)
Advertiser Interstate Challenge

Thursday 17^th January:
Sky Channel Adelaide Cup Semi-Finals (4)
John Gray Memorial Heats - Grade 5

 Thursday 24^th January: 
Sky Channel Adelaide Cup Final (Group 1)
John Gray Memorial Final
