Despite
being
beaten
into
second
place
in
his
heat
of
the
Hobart
Thousand
last
night,
Scull
Murphy
has
qualified
for
next
week’s
Group
1
Final.
“The
Scull”
again
had
to
overcome
a
chequered
run
and
was
wide
on
the
turn,
but
showed
his
great
heart
to
power
home
for
second,
less
than
a
length
behind
Train
A
Journey.
The
winner
had
also
run
on
well,
but
got
a
run
through
much
closer
to
the
fence.
Scull
Murphy,
was
one
of
the
three
fastest
seconds
from
the
five
heats
and
that
has
earned
him
a
spot
in
the
Final
on
Thursday
night
next
week.
The
locals
will
be
cheering
on
First
Innings,
which
is
part
owned
by
Australian
test
captain,
Ricky
Ponting.
It
was
the
fastest
heat
winner
in
26.28
and
in
a
stroke
of
good
fortune
for
Ponting,
the
Australian
team
will
be
playing
in
The
Final
