The Bunyip Gawler Gold Cup Heats  

Heats of the 2007 The Bunyip Gawler Gold Cup Heats will be run next Tuesday 13th  November. There will be five heats of the Group Three feature event.  

Heading up the list of starters are local star Scull Murphy and top Victorian greyhound, Train A Journey. The Scull won his first Group race last week, when successful in the SA Sprint Championship. While Train A Journey is no stranger to local fans, having raced here during this year’s Adelaide Cup carnival. Other visitors are the locally owned, but Victorian trained, Coulta Bomber and WA greyhound, Kalden Cool, which has transferred to the strong local kennel of Murray Harvey.  

Troy Murray will have a strong hand in the series, with six runners in the heats including SA Sprint runner-up Rutland Reason and Olly Orca.  

With five Heats, the winners plus three fastest thirds will make the Final. The other two thirds will be declared as reserves.  

The Bunyip Gawler Cup Final will be run on Sunday 18th November as a twilight fixture. The meeting will have full Sky Channel and TAB coverage.  

 

The Bunyip Gawler Gold Cup Consolation  

Owners & Trainers should please take note that the Gawler GRC has decided to sponsor a Gawler Gold Cup Consolation on Sunday 18th November. The race will be run for prizemoney of $1,100. All greyhounds that compete in Tuesday’s Heats will be eligible to run. Greyhounds will need to re-nominate for this race as per consolation race policy. Entry into the race will be determined by finishing positions in the heats.  

Nominations will close on Wednesday14th November at 9.00am with GRSA.
