 WEDNESDAY MORNING OAKS HEATS

The 2006 Coffex Coffee Oaks series kicks off at Angle Park next Wednesday morning, with 6 heats of the classic. This is the second year that the Oaks heats have been run on a Wednesday morning. Last year GRSA received 40 nominations and ran 5 heats, while the numbers increased to 45 for this year for the 6 events.

The race has drawn plenty of interest from interstate, with 20 runners nominated the clash with the locals. Pure Burst for trainer Wayne Vassallo heads up the interstate contingent. While Puzzle Corner and Springvale Snow will lead the local charge. We should see some excellent racing on Wednesday morning, so patrons should come along for breakfast.

There will be 3 semi-finals run on Thursday night 21^st September, so the first 4 greyhounds from each heat will advance and the fifth placegetters declared as reserves.

The Coffex Coffee Oaks Final is a Group 2 event which carries prize money of $30,000 and the winner receives $20,000 The Final is on Thursday 28^th September.
