PORT PIRIE 412 METRE BOXES APPROVED

GRSA Officials visited the Port Pirie track last Friday to inspect the completed work on the new “400” metre start. The Club has installed the boxes just past the finishing post and has also widened the turn and repositioned the catching pen as part of the work. The Club has also re-conditioned the old “700” metre boxes, which have been moved to the new starting position.

Chairman of Stewards, Paul Marks, witnessed a number of trials from the new 412 metre start and following this has issued approval for the Club to begin racing from the new position.

Trainers are therefore advised that nominations will be taken for 412 metre races for next Sunday’s (June 10th) Sky Channel twilight meeting. This will include Maidens, Graduations and Grade 5’s. Nominations will close on Wednesday morning (6th June) with GRSA at 9.00am.
