GRSA
and
the
Gawler
greyhound
Racing
Club
are
pleased
to
again
have
the
Gawler
Bunyip
as
the
naming
rights
sponsor
for
the
2006
Bunyip
Gawler
Gold
Cup
on
Sunday
19th
November.
The
Bunyip
is
the
weekly
Gawler
newspaper
and
it
has
a
history
dating
back
over
140
years.
The
Gawler
Health
Foundation
will
also
join
us
for
the
second
time,
with
all
patrons
and
participants
asked
to
make
a
gold
coin
donation
for
entry
into
the
track.
These
proceeds
will
go
directly
to
the
Foundation,
a
major
Gawler
community
organisation.
Features
of
the
night
will
include
an
appearance
by
the
popular
GAP
greyhounds.
Also
there
will
be
a
Punters
Club,
while
bookmaker,
Peter
Damarell
has
provided
us
with
$400
in
betting
vouchers
which
will
be
distributed
through
a
lucky
book
draw.
There
will
be
$10
vouchers
throughout
the
day
and
one
major
voucher
to
be
invested
on
the
Cup
itself.
There
will
be
other
prizes
to
be
won
also,
including
Cockatoo
Ridge
wines.
For
the
children,
here
will
be
free
amusements
as
well
as
an
appearance
by
Santa
Claus,
who
will
have
free
gifts
for
all
children.
The
Bunyip
Gawler
Gold
Cup
is
a
Group
3
event
and
the
Final
will
carry
total
prize
money
of
$21,500.
The
meeting
on
Sunday
the
19th
is
a
twilight
fixture
which
will
receive
full
Sky
Channel
and
TAB
coverage.
Racing
is
listed
to
commence
at
The
Cup
Heats
will
be
run
on
Tuesday
14th
November
and
will
carry
prize
money
of
$1,000
each.
The
nominations
for
the
Heats
will
close
with
GRSA
at
Last
year’s
Bunyip
Gawler
Gold
Cup
was
the
start
of
Miss
Spicy’s
stellar
run
of
Group
wins.
It
is
likely
to
be
a
keenly
contested
race
again
this
year.
