Greyhound of the month for March was Brahma Boy for trainer John Mundy.
The judges were unanimous in their voting with Brahma Boy receiving all 7 first preferences for the month after the son of Pure Octane and Surf Queen was undefeated in all four of his starts highlighted with his win in the SA St Leger Final.
He started the month off with a sizzling semi-final victory in the St Leger series where he led throughout recording a flying 29.91. After drawing awkwardly out of the 4 box in the final he started one of the outsiders at the juicy odds of $12.00 however again after a brilliant beginning he proved too strong for his rivals recording a solid 3 length victory in a quick 30.04 giving John one of his biggest victories as a trainer.
Brahma Boy had two more starts for the month all at Angle Park again, beginning brilliantly and leading throughout.
At the end of the month Brahma Boy’s career record stands at 21 starts with 11 wins and 6 placings, and earnings over $18,000. |
