GREYHOUND OF THE MONTH - JANUARY

The 2011 season has started in the same way 2010 finished with Satanic Cash being named the Greyhound of the Month for January. The voting panel gave the nod to the Bob Isaacson staying star with 4 first preference votes just ahead of the Rob Harnas trained sprinter Dark Duo with 3 first preference votes, both greyhounds had outstanding months.

Satanic Cash only had the two starts in January for two convincing wins which included his first Group race victory when he scored an easy win in the Group 3 West End Distance Championship over the 731m followed by an even softer win over the staying trip on Adelaide Cup night when he won by 8 lengths recording a brilliant 42.96.

Unfortunately the son of Big Daddy Cool and Satanic Miss was found to be injured after the event forcing the champ to have at least a month off the racing scene temporarily halting his assault on the big races on the National calendar.

Satanic Cash has now won 32 of his 62 lifetime starts, along with 18 placing's and has career earnings of just over $150,000. Last year he was named the 2010 Greyhound of the Year and also swept the pool with other big awards being named the SA Bred and SA Distance Greyhound of the Year.
