GREYHOUND OF THE MONTH - AUGUST

Greyhound of the month for August was Kalden Mayhem for trainer Troy Murray.

The Panel was unanimous in its decision for August, voting Kalden Mayhem as the Greyhound of the Month. Kalden Mayhem has been a model of consistency all year and has polled votes in 4 out of the previous 7 months finally breaking through with the August award.

He started the month of with a fine win in the heat of the Macro Meats National Distance Championship State Series defeating top liners Satanic Cash and Forty Twenty. He then stepped out a week later and repeated the dose in the State Final leading throughout from box 1 and recording a slick 43.43 for the 731m holding of the challenge of Forty Twenty.

By winning the State Final Kalden Mayhem then headed to Brisbane in late August to represent SA in the Group 1 National Distance Final at Albion Park against the best stayers in the land. The son of Big Daddy Cool and Abbadale Gold ran a bold race behind super stayer Dashing Corsair, stalking the champ for most of the race before finishing a gallant third for SA.

In August Kalden Mayhem had three starts for two wins and a third bringing his career to 50 starts for 21 wins and 15 placings and over $64,000 in stakemoney.
